Sinopodophyllum hexandrum (Royle) T.S.Ying subsp. ramgopalii D. Maity, J. Ghosh & Midday, a new subspecies from the Sikkim Himalayais described and illustrated. It is distinguished from the typical S. hexandrum subsp. hexandrum by some novel morphological traits.It differs clearly from subsp. hexandrumby having densely ciliate petal margins. Detailed description, illustration, field images and information on habitat ecology as well as phenology are provided.
