Hao, Jiachen; Yan, Ruiya; Liu, QuanruTrigonotis jiaochengensis Q. R. Liu & R. Y. Yan, a new species from China, is described and illustrated here. It is similar to T. peduncularis var. peduncularis and T. peduncularis var. amblyosepala in sharing numerous diffuse stems, ovate to elliptic leaves, scorpioid cyme with bract basally and trigonous–tetrahedral nutlets, but differs in having pedicel 5.2–18.4 mm long (vs. the former 3.9–4.8 mm long and the latter 1.5–3.5 mm long), as well as smooth nutlets with short carpophore (vs. verrucose nutlets with long carpophore in the contrast species) and flat bottom (vs. convex bottom in the former and the latter). The detailed morphological characters together with illustrations, diagnostic comparisons and habitat etc. are presented.
