Rediscovery of Ardisia gigantifolia Stapf and the reinstatement of A. kteniophylla A. DC. (Primulaceae)

With the rediscovery of Ardisia gigantifolia, the long-standing confusion of the species with A. pseudoverticillata, A. kteniophylla and A. dasyrhizomatica due to the misinterpretation of the type of A. gigantifolia are clarified. It is confirmed that A. dasyrhizomatica to be a later synonym of A. gigantifolia; A. kteniophylla and A. pseudoverticillata are conspecific, representing another species. The earlier name A. kteniophylla should be reinstated.
