A new species of Ligularia Cass. (Asteraceae), Ligularia zhengyiana from Hubei Province, China

Li, Xinwei; Luo, Qiong; Gan, QiliangA new species Ligularia zhengyiana from Hubei Province, China, is described and illustrated. The species is characterized by dense blackish purple pilose hairs on the stems and by coarsely triangular-dentate leaves. L. zhengyiana is similar to L. fischeri (Ledeb.) Turcz., but L. zhengyiana is densely long blackish purple pilose on stems, while L. fischeri is glabrous or shortly yellowish brown pilose on stems, and the pappus of L. zhengyiana is white and that of L. fischeri is yellowish brown.
