Nomenclatural transfer of Chinese Pulsatilla to Anemone (Ranuculaceae)
16 December 2014
Jiang, Nan; Zhou, Zhuang; Guan, Kaiyun; Yu, Wen-BinPulsatilla was separated from Anomone as a separate genus that was adopted by some authors. Molecular phylogenies show that this genus along with Barneoudia, Knowltonia, Hepatica, and Oreithales is nested with Anomone. For this reason, Pulsatilla is treated as a section of Amemone. For the Chinese Pulsatilla species, nine species names are already available in Anemone, and the remaining names of three species and four infraspecific taxa are transferred to Anemone here.
