Cousinia brevicaulis, a noteworthy new species of sect. Lasiandra Bunge for Flora of Iran

Attar, Farideh; Mozaffarian, Valiollah; Mirtadzadini, MansourCousinia brevicaulis is described and illustrated as a new species from east of Iran. This species belongs to the sect. Lasiandra Bunge by hairy anther tube, yellow, pale yellow or rarely milky flowers, monocarpic form and corymbose branching of stem. It can be easily distinguished from other species of the section due to its very short stemmed habit. The distribution of new species is in a part of the same region of the section Lasiandra which is presented.
